I placed the order through their promotion, and the price was $200 cheaper than usual. I can only say this is the highest-quality katana I’ve bought at this price point—it’s better than many of the swords I own, even the Hanwei ones.

This is my first time buying a samurai sword crafted with this technique, and its quality has exceeded my expectations. The hamon on the blade is incredibly natural—it’s a genuine clay-tempered hamon, not the fake kind. The customer service representative mentioned that this craftsmanship makes the sword more durable, and so far, I haven’t encountered any issues while using it. The Sashikomi polishing is extremely fine; the blade feels smooth to the touch with no rough spots at all.

I’d had my eye on this crucible steel samurai sword for ages, and finally purchasing it did not let me down at all! There’s not a single flaw to pick out, from the material to the craftsmanship. The Sashikomi polishing is absolutely on point—the blade is so shiny it can reflect a person’s silhouette, yet it doesn’t look gaudy; instead, it exudes a calm, solid texture. The edge is ground to a sharp finish; I tested it on cutting paper, and it sliced through cleanly and smoothly without any hesitation. The cord wrapping on the hilt is tight yet comfortable to hold—it’s non-slip and fits perfectly in the hand, so even holding it for a long time doesn’t feel tiring. Whether it’s for collection or occasional handling, this sword is more than up to the mark. I’ve already recommended it to my friends who love samurai swords!

I bought this sword to decorate the display cabinet at home, and it looks really good when placed there. The pattern on the blade has a strong sense of layering under the light, and the color of the crucible steel is very authentic, not the kind of cheap bright color. The edge pattern from the Clay Temper process is very clear, like having its own unique lines, which is quite special. The craftsmanship of the scabbard is also good; the wood is solid, the paint on the surface is evenly applied with no bubbles. It has a good weight in the hand, not flimsy at all, so you can feel that the materials used are genuine. The logistics packaging was also careful—it was covered with two layers of cartons outside, and there was foam inside to fix it, so there was no damage at all when received.

If you want a collectible-grade sword, Shaodwdancer is your best choice. Don’t listen to other people’s negative reviews about it online—you won’t find such a perfect sword anywhere else.

I bought this for my dad. He usually likes to study these cold weapons. After receiving it, he looked it over repeatedly for a long time and said the craftsmanship of this sword is quite solid. The crucible steel material makes a crisp sound when tapped, so it should be genuine. The blade edge is polished quite sharp; he tried it with waste newspapers and cut smoothly. The scabbard is made of wood, polished smoothly with no burrs, and the metal accessories have no signs of rust. The logistics were also fast—it arrived in three days. The packaging was filled with a lot of foam, so neither the sword nor the scabbard was damaged. Dad said it's much better than the one he bought before and asked me to help him check if this store has other models.

I consider myself a half-hearted samurai sword enthusiast and usually like to collect ones with decent craftsmanship. The first feeling I had when I got this one is that the details are well-handled—for example, there are no impurities left in the gaps of the tsuba (guard), the scabbard fits the blade very well, and it doesn't get stuck when drawing or inserting. The pattern of the crucible steel is not the printed kind; it's natural forging marks. The edge pattern from the Clay Temper process is also very neat, and you can tell it was made with care. The polishing is not ostentatious; it has a warm luster, not the dazzling kind like a mirror. The grip is also good, with a well-found balance point, so it's stable even when swinging with one hand. No problems have been found so far, and if properly maintained later, it should last for a long time.

This is a very well made sword that feels lively in the hand with a high quality fit and finish, and the polish of the blade looks great too. The customer service I received was excellent, and I was allowed to customise the handle-wrap and scabbard
